Sundial Book | Personal Project

This book was a collaboration with my mother, Jan MacIlwraith. The idea of time casing shadows upon a person's face and the similarity of sundials and the shadows that they cast. This handmade, fold-out book was made with Photoshop. 2006.

Neighborhood Narratives | Personal Project

Neighborhood Narratives is a locative media course that introduces students to the concept of situated storytelling -stories that are tied closely to the environment at hand, which can bring neighborhoods to life. The projects extend beyond the traditional classroom, creating an interdisciplinary mix that includes ethnography, geography, an integration of the arts and new media studies. 2006.

Orchid Photo Series | Philadelphia, PA

The orchid series was created to explore digital photography and cutting and pasting. All orchid photos were taken on a 35mm camera. Then the negatives were scanned and manipulated/saturated in Photoshop. Next, the photos were printed on a inkjet, cut or torn, then combined. 2004.
