Digital Painting Process | Personal Project
This is a 8 foot painting, painted with acrylics on board. Throughout my painting
process I photographed my stages. I created an animation in Flash demonstrating the progress and added music to create an atmosphere.

This is a series of digital photos that were shot with a 35mm camera. The photos
were then printed on transparent paper and layered to create this montage.

The orchid series was created to explore digital photography and cutting and
pasting. All orchid photos were taken on a 35mm camera. Then the negatives
were scanned in and manipulated/saturated in Photoshop. Next, the photos
were printed on a inkjet, cut or torn, then combined with the other photos of a
different hue and saturation. Finally the finished product was scanned back
into the computer and viewed as a digital piece.

Time Shadow Book | Personal Project
This book was a collaboration with my mother, Jan MacIlwraith. The idea of time casing shadows upon a person's face and the similarity of sundials and the shadows that they cast. This handmade, fold-out book was made with Photoshop. 2006. {click to view project}

Neighborhood Narratives is a locative media course that introduces students to the concept of situated storytelling - stories that are tied closely to the environment at hand, which can bring neighborhoods to life. The projects extend beyond the traditional classroom, creating an interdisciplinary mix that includes ethnography, geography, an integration of the arts and new media studies. 2006.
